Delson or Sherman Architects PC

ROSANNE PUGLIESE

Collaborating with jewelry designer Rosanne Pugliese on her first retail store, New York architects Delson or Sherman struck gold.  The site was the grubby basement of a Brooklyn Heights brownstone.  After stripping away the cheap finishes, they found handsome brick walls and oak floors.  They also enlarged the front window to double as a vitrine for display.

At the sidewalk entry, you now step down into an inviting store-cum-salon.  Warm spot lights showcase the jewelry while drawing guests in.  Deep hues turn rough surfaces and exposed pipes into a bas-relief backdrop for Rosanne’s lustrous gems and curated objets.  A brass beaded curtain screens a small office.  Behind that is the artist’s workshop.
