Dumbo Office

For Delson or Sherman Architects’ own Brooklyn offices, they built out a raw industrial space in Dumbo.  To make the most of the two exposures and high ceilings, they ran open workspaces along the sunny window walls.  Conversely, they pushed the library, storage, and kitchen to the core.  Their crisply detailed furnishings boldly contrast with the loft’s rough concrete and exposed ducts. Simple black solar shades modulate the sunlight.  Cherry plywood cubbies, aligned with the window sills, provide handy storage while organizing the spaces.  Desks made of honed black granite desks with ends dropped to the floor run the length of the office.  Occasionally, the space also doubles as gallery space for selected artists.
